Hi, I'm Alice. I go by 'Ouuroboros' on the internet. I'm also quite aware that it isn't spelt correctly, but someone already took the proper spelling on blogger and this meant shenanigans had to be performed for an almost-bearable username.
I'm a nineteen year old living in everyone's favourite kakistocracy, the UK. Specifically, Cambridge. I've wanted to be a writer since I was very small, and I started this blog to chart my (mis)adventures during my gap year - the purpose of which was to try and achieve that goal.
I've spent the past four years faffing around with the idea for my main project, The Light Age, which is a series of four novels plus a prequel, and I've now got the plot finalised. But over this year I've worked on a series of interlocking short stories called City of the Damned, and am in the process of releasing them as ebooks on Amazon.com.
Dystopia, futurism and science fiction are my thing. I'm skeptical, cynical and I get ranty and bitey about politics and stupid people from time to time. But if I didn't complain about things every so often, my British card might get revoked.
My favourite books and inspirations are 1984, A Clockwork Orange, Fearless, Siberia, Animal Farm, The Road, Lord of the Flies, To Kill a Mockingbird, Flowers for Algernon and the Harry Potter series. I like using stupid emoticons in my posts ♥‿♥, and stupidly obscure words such as ktenology and abyssopelagic.
